As a Manager of Client Care, I have learned to greatly value positive energy and morale in our branch. Appreciation and recognition of colleagues go a very long way to keep our energy and morale up. Every Friday morning we have a Recognition and Reward/LTR Huddle. We spend about 20 minutes highlighting and recognizing LTR comments we’ve received, discussing what we are doing to improve where necessary, and celebrating our scores of 10. We also take the time to have staff share the Instant Thanks and nominations that they have provided for others.
Having staff personally say "thank you” and "I appreciate you" to their colleagues seems to have a larger impact then having a committee simply read off the nominations or comments. We are consistent in doing this every week, and keep positive appreciation top of mind by having these meetings where we all "share the love".
